Sadie is 7 Months old!

* Belated post... This was written last week, but was never sent due to getting the worst stomach flu and then Mastitis again! Some things that I wrote have changed just in a week. Like teeth!! We are having hard nights due to teething and you can see her two swollen front gums and one bottom tooth surfacing. Can't wait to see what she looks like with pearly whites!

Original post:
The other day Darrin and I were just thinking how Sadie's 7 months has gone faster compared to the first 7 months of being pregnant. The summer is already half way over and soon she will be transitioning to the "crawler" section in daycare. Wow!

This past month was a healthy month!! Yay, no sickness finally!
- Sadie and her "BF" went swimming for the first time at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. She loves the water and loves splashing and is just so content. We have gone several times since and my friend Laura and I signed up for Waterbaby classes starting early August. Can't wait!
- Sadie is trying and loving new foods on a daily basis. I'm making all of her organic pureed food and it's going well! Her favorites are sweet potatoes, mangos, pears, strawberry/bananas and beets. She looks like a little vampire when she gets beets all over her face and hair. This past week she tried fresh zucchini from our garden! I'm glad she liked it because we have tons of squash growing! We are now feeding her solid foods three times a day. Growing girl.
- She is totally sitting up on her own, but has NO teeth yet? She isn't much of a drooler, so hopefully they will just pop when they are ready!
- I'm still nursing and unfortunately she likes to use me as a paci, compared to using her own paci.
- Her daycare teachers and Darrin and I have noticed how Sadie is very compassionate and concerned for other babies. It's very cute and she gets this look and sometimes will put her hand on the babies back to say, "Hey, it's okay!" Soo sweet!
- Her best friend at daycare is named Charlotte and they are 4days apart. They tell us they play with each other's toes!
- SLEEP-- I wish it will get better and consistent soon! Usually, she goes down around 8-8:30 and wakes up 45mins later to get the last of her feeding. Then wakes up around 4a.m. and then up around 6:50? Nap 1:30-2hrs after she wakes up for an hour, middle of the day nap around 12 and then her longer nap around 3 or 4 for about 2.5hrs. Her naps are shorter at daycare. She does not nap well in her crib during the day and unfortunately, loves to nap on me or in her swing. I don't get much done when she naps on me, but I'm usually just as tired too. I know I will never get to do that when we have another child, so I'm taking in our sweet naps together.
- 4th of July was another great celebration this year. We had a neighborhood parade and decorated her stroller, but the decor was ruined fast, due to the rain storm. She went on her first boat ride, but mainly napped the whole time, ha! It was pretty humid that day and was very sleepy most of the time. She slept well at Aunt Trish/Uncle Gary's house and never woke up to our huge firework show!
- Sadie is all wiggles and bubbles... She is a huge roller now, especially when we are changing her and we have to watch her very close. Also, she just babbles and blows bubbles with her mouth constantly. It's pretty darn cute!

Some of her likes:
New car toy, splashing water, stroller walks, bubbles, park swings, petting Savannah, tickles, peek-a-boo, rides around the house in a empty Huggies cardboard box (hey, it's a cheap toy), rattle toy, corners of books, and lot's of holding and snuggles.

Sadie is 6 Months!

How did 6 months go by so quickly? It really goes so fast and our little missy is half-way to her first birthday! This past month Sadie's has had a lot of milestone's and her personality is just shining everyday.

What's been happening:
- 17.5lbs and 27.5" The doc says she's perfect in weight since she is so tall.
- Started Oatmeal which she loves. Gave her avocado as her first "real" veggie and she had the best sour face! She has tasted homemade applesauce and next is butternut squash and green beans!
- 23wks she rolled over both ways and she puts herself to sleep on her side.
- The same week she rolled over, she sat up by herself!
- One word that I would describe Sadie is, observant.
- She's grasping and trying to touch everything. Spoons, plastic containers, and chip bags are really fun now! Why buy more toys?
- Tummy time is for crying babies... Sadie's a big girl now and can chill on her tummy with no problem;)
- Took her first 4mile hike to the Cascades and rode on Daddy's back in a backpack. What a trek, but slept half of the time!
- Unfortunately, due to daycare she was sick most of her fifth month. Two colds and an ear infection. Boo!
- Sadly, I put away most of her 0-6month clothes in a bin. Some 3month onesies still fit, but she's mainly in 6-9months now.
- Went to a few festivals and a new winery in Blacksburg.
- Celebrated Darrin's first Father's Day and drove to Charlotte for the day. We went to a pet friendly beer garden and took Maddie. It was a Hot, but a nice day!
- Loves being tipped over upside down and tickled. Her gut laugh really comes out.
- Mastitis=No fun
- Still loves books, baths, cuddle time in the morning, late afternoon naps on me, petting the cat and we just got a new exersaucer that has been exciting.

There's more to add, but my lack of sleep is making my foggy:)

Rollin'!

The last post I wrote about how Sadie hasn't rolled over yet... Well not even 24 hours after that post our little missy ROLLED over!! Darrin and I were shocked and Sadie was too! It happened on her play mat and I was right next to her and Darrin was in the room, but we missed it:( It was so fast, but we took her photo right after. Since then she's rolled over twice! I thought we would notice her trying to roll over for a few days or something? She just did it. Proud milestone;)

Also, Sadie had another play date with her BF Nolan who is 4 days younger. They were adorable together! At least they didn't cry like their first play date.

Sooo precious!

They sure have grown since their first date!

Sadie is 5 Months old!

Sadie turned five months last week and I have been meaning to take the time to write what she has been up to. This month Sadie has been getting a lot stronger and showing more of her little personality. She laughs harder and loves getting tickled. It's very cute!
- Tummy time is longer now and you can tell her back strength is getting stronger. She hasn't yet rolled over. Soon I hope (but not really;). She is sleeping more, but waiting for our nights to stay consistent! We had a good routine 8:30p.m. up at 4:45a.m. feeding and up again at 8ish. The last two weeks have been rough (like every 2hrs, she'll call for us). The days we take her to daycare really mess her up with naps. She has so much social interaction there and I don't think she calms down.
- She took her second big airplane ride to CA for a week! She did great in the plane and smiled and looked around at all the people. At four weeks she slept most of the flights and this trip she didn't sleep that much. I nursed a lot due to so many takeoffs. My first Mother's Day was spent in Santa Cruz and it was fun dipping her little toes in the Pacific Ocean! Our week was jammed packed. We spent most of the time at my sisters with her family and with my friends. It was so nice to have Sadie get close with everyone on my side again. Her attachment issues that she had with me really stopped, since she was with so many people! We did get a date night and spent our second wedding anniversary in South Lake Tahoe. We dropped off Sadie with her Papa and Nonni and had a great time just the two of us. It was a great week, but needed to chill for a week after!
Some other new things:
- Size 2 diapers, fitting into 6month clothes and 16.4lbs already!!
- Nursing more and pumping less this month. Loves scooting across the floors in her play saucer. She totally walks in it. Grabs more toys in her hand, pets the cat and dog and loves trying to eat the corner of books.
- 4.5wks we tried rice cereal! She didn't know what to do at first, but she has gotten the hang of it. She grabs the spoon to direct for more now.
- She got her third cold/cough again from daycare last week. Boo and now she has an ear infection this week. She was really fussy and crying hard this past Sunday night, which she never does. We took her to the doctors Monday morning because she had a 103 fever, ah! She is on her first antibiotics, ugh!
- Sadie had her first singing performance! Yep, she was on stage with her other baby friends at the daycares/preschool graduation. It was adorable!

Mommy notes:
- The last two months my hair has really changed probably due to the hormones. Not liking the thick, kinky, textured curls on the crown of my head!! Hopefully after I stop nursing it will go back?!?
- The humidity lately has reminded me of my pregnancy and a few times have made me get a little anxious. It's just brought back memories because I was so sick last summer. So WEIRD to have those thoughts?? Oh and I still can't use my hairspray, perfume and chocolate frozen yogurt. So, I guess humidity isn't so weird? well kinda...
- 2.5lbs more and I'll be at pre-preggo weight!! Very surprised it hasn't taken too long to lose it, since I really haven't tried to sweat it off. A few Zumba classes and stroller walks, but nursing has helped a lot. Now if I can get my hips to shrink, so I can fit in my old pants, ha!

Sadie is 4months old!

4months has gone by since I held my 7lb 4oz 21.5" baby girl for the first time. Now, Sadie has doubled her weight (15.1lbs 26") and is full of smiles!

As I type this, she is sleeping in my arms with a fever:( Sadie had four vaccines yesterday and like her 2 month shots, she got sick.

We finally got out more in Sadie's third month. We still had snow, but saw some nice spring days too!
We took her on more stroller rides, she is cooing a lot, loves books, singing and she is tracking our movement and voices. Sadie started sleeping in her crib and that meant we got our room back!

-After months of anticipation and nervousness, we left Sadie with her Nana overnight and we took our annual NASCAR camping trip with our friends. Sadie got more sleep than us that night. It was a crazy trip for us!
-Sadie started daycare at Rainbow Riders with six other babies in the infant room. We are very happy with the place, but she is slowly going due to me still being at home.
-My Dad came to visit early April and we had an unexpected snow storm, but he thought it was beautiful. It was great to see the two redheads together;) Then my Mom came last week for six days and she enjoyed spending alone time with Sadie. We took a huge walk around VT and she was in awe of the flowers that just started to bloom here.
-One thing Sadie has gotten a little more fussy this month. She has attachment issues and only wants me and Darrin. I calm her down more and am nursing a lot, especially to sleep at night. The doctor says it will pass and is normal. We also saw her first tooth cut surface, so that is a huge reason she is drooling and has been a bit more fussy than normal.
-In mid-April we went to DC to visit Darrin's brother, sister in-law and nephew and took Sadie to her first winery. It was fun to see the cousins together.

-We have a pretty good bedtime routine now. She's asleep around 8:30p.m. and she wakes up at least once around 4a.m.  for an hour and sleeps in until 7:30-8:30! Love that she can sleep in! Can't wait to see what she does this month...
